Gregory Roberts has melded art and science in this sculpture carved from an industrial ceramic product. Its honeycomb-like structure is a familiar component of catalytic converters. Roberts learned about this industrial material when he was a student at Alfred University, whose School of Ceramics is legendary in studio craft. Alfred is also known in industry with their Ceramic Engineering program.
