Artifacts
The Kamms have cast a wide net in gathering their teapot collection. Beside the contemporary, historical and novelty teapots is a category of artifacts. This collection illustrates the pervasive use of teapot imagery in material culture. The diversity includes advertising, books, coins, ephemera, memorabilia, music and many other classifications of objects.
Everyday items such as clothing, furniture, housewares and toys feature teapots, such as a quilt with a teapot pattern or a lamp with a teapot form. Other objects make use of the teapot as a symbol or cultural reference, for example, the campaign memorabilia citing the Teapot Dome political scandal.
Some unusual finds include a mechanical musician, a full-scale playhouse, a parade float, a presidential tea table from Air Force One, and a neon sign prop from the television/film industry.
