This is the second teapot by Harlan Butt in the Kamm Teapot Collection. Both are from his vessel series Earth Beneath Our Feet.
The blue and green enamel colors have an underlying pattern of spiral lines; this is the cloisonné technique of using silver wires to contain the enamel. Harlan Butt has created miniature woodland elements that adorn the teapot: a twig, mushroom, and leaves. His haiku poem is on the teapot rim: “The storm has moved on; Scattered leaves and dripping trees, Remnants of its rage.”
