Jeffrey Forsythe exhibited at the 2009 SOFA Chicago art exposition. Forsythe had been meticulously covering found objects and interiors with gold leaf in a series of sculptures and installations. At SOFA, he exhibited a gold-leafed circular saw cutting through a foam wedding cake. Sonny and Gloria Kamm saw this work and commissioned Forsythe to create a teapot sculpture.
