Ceramist Jeroen Bechtold designed this teapot using CAD software, and it was made by master craftsman Guh Wei Fen in Yixing, China. This collaboration was part of the 1996 “First Annual Yixing Symposium for Western Potters”. As Bechtold relates on his website, “This was the first time eastern pre-industrial craft traditions came eye-to-eye with western exploratory vistas of the information age.”
