Linda Threadgill is a silversmith and jeweler. She uses the impeccable craftsmanship of those disciplines to make both functional holloware and sculpture. In this example, Forsaking Ornament is a sculpture about the cultural relationships of form and decoration in the worlds of art, architecture, design and craft. The frame of the vessel is standing on a shadow-like platform that is textured with a decorative pattern.
