Lynn Cassinerio created this teapot sculpture about The Wizard of Oz. Its base is made of two plates that are covered in pink grout. Embedded in the grout are pieces of found ceramics about Kansas including a white house. A spiraling bronze stem holds up the teapot and represents the tornado in the story. The teapot is covered in a ceramic mosaic of colors including a poppy field. The yellow brick road winds from the sculpture’s base to the top where Dorothy and Toto sit.
The Kamms have collected 13 artworks by Lynn Cassinerio. See more of the artist’s “memoryware” work at her website mattsonstudios.com.
