Japanese Crane Teapot

This blue and white teapot was manufactured by Minton. The pattern of flying cranes was designed by Christopher Dresser (British, 1834–1904) who was influence by Japanese art. He designed this pattern for a plate in 1872, and for other shapes. Minton also used the crane pattern on shapes not specifically designed by Dresser.
