Rockwell Kent was an American painter and illustrator, who also applied his talents to ceramic design for the manufacturer Vernon Kilns. This coffee pot from the dinnerware pattern “Salamina” depicts a statuesque woman in a landscape. Kent had lived in Greenland with an Eskimo woman and her child. He wrote and illustrated a book about his adventures there, titled Salamina.
