The silversmith made the pieces of this set to look like the leather water flasks carried by the Ottoman army in the 18th century. These historical items were made of leather with embroidered decorations. Here, the silver has been chased or engraved with a decorative design that is partially gilded. Another feature of the tea set taken from the water flask is the attached lids and spout stoppers.
