The Beatles are posed drinking tea in this autographed publicity photograph. It has writing on the back, in Italian, indicating that the signatures of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were obtained on the occasion of The Beatles concert at the Velodromo Vigorelli in Milan on 24th June 1965. Indeed, the signatures were obtained by a security guard. Evidently, as frequently occurred, Lennon and Harrison were otherwise engaged at the time of the signing, and road manager and personal assistant Neil Aspinall added the two signatures on their behalf.
Neil Aspinall (1941-2008) British Music Industry Executive, was a school friend of McCartney and Harrison. Aspinall was first employed by The Beatles as their road manager, and was later promoted to personal assistant to the band, eventually becoming head of Apple Corps.
