George IV Repousse Teapot 1827
Sterling silver, wood

This elaborately wrought teapot features two high-relief scenes staged with curtains and trees. One depicts a battle set in a forest and the other is a raucous victory banquet. The imagery carries over the body of the teapot. Hounds and boars hide among the trees. Atop the teapot is a griffin’s head, its throat pierced by an arrow.
